The only affected scenarios are the most heavy on performance. I particularly got a boost to 10~15 FPS in the scenarios I had previous problems on.2 - This mod does NOT affect the entire game and/or the cutscenes. I asked the mods earlier if it would be alright to post a link to the compilation of stage files I have modded in order to make the game playable below the minimum specs, and it was recently granted by one of them. Thus, I'm going to post a link to it (hosted on Nexus), in the hopes that maybe someone out there, who is struggling with this game, might have a chance to play it after all.īefore you download the mod, however, do pay attention to 3 important things:1 - Swiftshader users are the target of the mod, as their framerates are about 5~10 FPS. In order to fix this, I ended up opening up the game's Scenario Files in the hopes of removing audiovisual effects from the game.and what I found in there astonished me:Even on minimum, the game still rendered dust, wind, fog, dynamic lights and even some sounds that caused major framedrops during the gameplay!Īs soon as I removed them, my performance improve a huge lot, making it 100% possible to finish the whole game (+ DLCs) without the use of any sort of cheat and/or macro (AutoHotkey). Now, Resident Evil 5 surprised me by how GREAT it actually worked with Swiftshader (much, much better than many games I have used Swiftshader with in the past), however, some parts of it were completely unplayable due to the low framerates - they caused QTE events to be impossible, short-timed sequences to be way too ahead of its time, and many other problems of the sort. The thing is, I don't even have a GPU capable of Supporting Shader Model\Pixel Shader Version 3, thus I was forced to use Swiftshader to emulate my game. I have recently (last week) started playing Resident Evil 5, and just managed to complete it's plot 100% of the way late last night. More information can be found on the Mod's page on Nexus, linked at the very bottom of this post. It does not affect the whole game, however, being focused only on the scenarios where the framerates will render the game unplayable, either because of a non-responding Quick Time Event or because of an impossibility to aim during a Boss Fight. It is targeted to Swiftshader users, but will give good boosts of performance to anyone interested. I recently made a mod that is sure to upgrade the Framerate of anyone playing Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition on a potato-pc such as mine. Update: As of now, I have finished the mod, which now alters every scenario in the game, including the DLCs "Lost In Nightmares" and "Desperate Escape", together with the "Mercenaries" mode.
